The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 22.1
Vermouth’s gaze clung to him persistently. However, Choi Jae-heon took Ian and entered the assigned tent, paying him no mind. Although it was a makeshift tent, it had everything necessary, much like the one belonging to Yoon Tae-gyeom that Ian had seen before.
“Sit down.”
At Choi Jae-heon’s words, Ian sat obediently in the chair.
“What do you want to drink?”
As he asked, he held up strawberry milk and banana milk. Ian silently pointed to the strawberry milk. Choi Jae-heon inserted a straw, handed the strawberry milk to Ian, and sat down across from him. Hong Seo-yun and Yoon Tae-gyeom had asked to stay as well, but Choi Jae-heon refused them.
“I am going to talk with my family first.”
“We are practically family too, though.”
Hong Seo-yun grumbled, but Yoon Tae-gyeom dragged him away. Although they did not know what kind of conversation would take place, they vacated the area to allow for a family discussion.
Ian first drank the strawberry milk in his hand. The sweet taste slowly calmed his nerves, which had been on edge the entire time. He felt a bit more courage to face his brother.
“So.”
Choi Jae-heon began to speak.
“Until now, I did not ask because I did not know what kind of scars you might have, but I need to know now. Tell me what happened during that time.”
“I told you about that last time.”
“Yes, you did. Then I will ask again. What exactly was your relationship with that guy?”
“It was just the relationship between a Holy Knight and a Saint.”
“And yet you press your lips against him so easily?”
“No, that was…”
It was not an act that deserved a name like a smooch or a kiss. It was merely for the purpose of restoring power, but to his brother, it could certainly look strange. This was because, on Earth, such actions were only done between people in love.
“In truth, it wasn’t just a kiss on the cheek, was it?”
At those words, Ian reflexively gripped the milk carton with both hands.
“Ian.”
Choi Jae-heon met Ian’s eyes.
“We are family. Family members should not hide anything from each other.”
No, I want to hide it. Even if a family is on good terms, they don’t tell each other everything about physical contact with others! Even though Ian had been dragged to Lancia five years ago, he knew at least that much. Of course, Ian had been caught by his brother while masturbating before!
He thought this was a separate matter.
Ian could not bring himself to tell the truth and merely fiddled with the strawberry milk carton.
“Did you kiss?”
Ian was startled by the blunt question. That reaction seemed to give Choi Jae-heon confirmation.
“Has he ever touched your body?”
Ian struggled to maintain his composure as much as possible. He desperately wanted to hide the fact that Vermouth had put a hand inside his clothes and toyed with his chest.
“He has.”
Choi Jae-heon had a shocked look on his face. I didn’t even say anything, so how did he know? Ian’s face turned bright red with embarrassment and fluster.
“Well.”
At the words that were about to follow, Ian was terrified and covered Choi Jae-heon’s mouth with his hand. He felt a gaze questioning what he was doing, but he could not take his hand away.
His mind went blank, and he could not think of anything to say.
Choi Jae-heon calmly removed Ian’s hand and finished the thought he hadn’t been able to say.
“Did you sleep together?”
They had slept together many times. However, he swore to heaven that they had never done anything so embarrassing that he couldn’t say it directly. Therefore, this time he could answer confidently.
“No.”
“You did sleep together.”
“I said no?” Choi Jae-heon calmly stood up and left the tent. What on earth is happening right now? Ian stood there dazed before hurriedly following him out of the tent.
Crash!
The container that had been used as a meeting room until moments ago flew through the air.
“My, my.”
Vermouth swatted away the container flying toward him with his hand. The container rolled across the ground in a crumpled state, and the people nearby scattered while screaming.
“Hey!”
Hong Seo-yun blocked Choi Jae-heon’s path with a surprised expression. Yes, the person who had just hurled the container at Vermouth was Choi Jae-heon. His eyes, which had been sunken and emotionless when Ian was gone, were now glowing with an indescribable emotion.
Vermouth looked back and forth between Choi Jae-heon and Ian, then nodded as if he understood.
“I heard from another comrade in the past that being with the person you love is impossible with just the consent of the two involved. Because there is family, you see.”
“Die.”
“That is troublesome. I cannot die for you, so I think it would be best to have some time for persuasion.”
“Why is every word out of that guy’s mouth like that?” Ian rubbed his face with his hands. In the meantime, Hong Seo-yun, who had stepped closer, asked Ian.
“Ian. What is going on?”
“For now, do we just need to kill that bastard, Vermouth?”
Hong Seo-yun did not seem to have the slightest intention of stopping Choi Jae-heon. And the same went for Yoon Tae-gyeom.
“Please step back!”
