Ian stood a step behind and watched the scene. At first, he thought he might be in the way and tried to back off, but Hong Seo-yun  grabbed Ian’s  hand firmly.

“Hey, don’t go just yet. Wait here!”

At the urgent voice, Ian found himself nodding. Once the interior of the Gate was cleared, Hong Seo-yun immediately returned to Ian’s side.

“You, you! Ian!”

“Yeah.”

Ian nodded and looked directly at Hong Seo-yun. Just as Hong Seo-yun saw the traces of time in Ian, Ian felt the same from him. While he had been in another world, several years had passed on Earth.

Once again, he felt a surge of resentment toward the God  who had dragged him to another world.

“You!”

In the meantime, it seemed Hong Seo-yun had organized his thoughts.

“Why, why did you do that!”

Ian’s brow twitched at the words spat out in shock as Hong Seo-yun gripped his shoulders with both hands.

“What?”

“I told you! If someone asks you to go somewhere, you have to say no! And what did I tell you to say if someone tries to touch you!”

“I don’t like it. No. Please don’t do that.”

Those were words Ian’s brother  had also taught him many times.

“That applies to me too!”

“Eh?”

Ian blinked blankly, and only then did he recall Earth’s common sense. He had forgotten because he had been using his abilities recklessly while living in another world, but normally, kissing someone without their permission is considered harassment. He lightly tapped his fist against his palm.

Hong Seo-yun meant it in a different way, but Ian understood it the opposite way.

“Hyung, I’m sorry. I ended up sexually harassing you.”

Ian said as he took Hong Seo-yun’s hand.

“Hit me.”

“What? Hit what?”

“I did something bad.”

“No, where on your body is there even a place to hit! And what do you mean, sexual harassment! A baby giving a kiss doesn’t make it sexual harassment!”

Looking at Hong Seo-yun, who was shouting whatever came to mind in a panic, Ian nodded. He thought he understood why Hong Seo-yun was acting that way. Even though he had been harassed, he couldn’t bring himself to hit a younger brother he had known for so long. He had a foul mouth and a rough appearance, but he was actually a gentle person.

“No, this isn’t what I meant to say!”

Hong Seo-yun raised his hand and rubbed his forehead. There was so much he wanted to say, but the location was not ideal.

“For now, let’s get out of the Gate. We can talk once we’re out.”

Even then, Hong Seo-yun held Ian’s hand tightly and did not let go. In that manner, he returned to the guild members he had left behind. On the way, Ian was quiet and didn’t ask anything. It felt a bit awkward. He used to have a more lively vibe.

“Hello.”

When Hong Seo-yun, who had been fighting for his life against monsters, brought back a pale beauty, the guild members’ eyes grew wide.

“Ah, hello?”

Among them, some spoke their thoughts aloud.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Choi Ian. I’m an acquaintance of Seo-yun hyung.”

“No, that’s not it…”

Since a new person had suddenly appeared in a closed Gate, doubts were bound to arise. However, Hong Seo-yun stepped in and glossed over the explanation.

“It seems he barely made it in before it closed.”

Why? One guild member managed to hold back the thought that was about to slip out this time. If the Guild Leader said so, then that was that. Hong Seo-yun’s guild members had higher loyalty compared to other guilds. Most of them had received help from him at some point.

“The boss is dead, so let’s get out.”

Only then did the shadows hanging over the guild members’ faces lift. Supporting the injured and helping each other, they left the Gate. As soon as they exited, the reporters waiting in front thrust their cameras forward.

Among them were people from the Awakened Management Bureau and Awakened from other guilds. It seemed they had been called in after hearing the news that the Gate rank had suddenly increased, and that Hong Seo-yun was the only S-Rank among those who had entered.

Hong Seo-yun hid Ian behind his back and quickly scanned the people standing in front. In this situation, there was no way that guy wouldn’t come. And sure enough, he was there.

“Yoon Tae-gyeom.”

An S-Rank Awakened belonging to the Management Bureau. To use Hong Seo-yun’s words, a “water-user” with a sleek-looking face. Hearing the voice calling him, the man lifted his head and looked this way. Soon, his cold eyes landed on Hong Seo-yun.

“Hong Seo-yun.”

Yoon Tae-gyeom strode toward Hong Seo-yun. As S-Rank Awakened, the two were intertwined in many ways. It was partly because their abilities were starkly divided into fire and water, and also because they had a relationship where they snarled at each other whenever they met, despite being friends since childhood.

“You managed to survive.”

“I’m not the type to die in a place like that, am I?”

As expected, pleasant words never passed between them.
