Currently, a secret study on healers was underway in the United States. According to the data, the healing mechanisms of commoner-born healers and priest-born healers were subtly different—in efficiency, speed, and even the texture of the recovery.

The United States believed that the difference stemmed from “Divine Power,” which originated from a faith in God.

“Awakened individuals from clerical backgrounds. The power they use is fundamentally different from the existing mana system.”

Alexander Gray muttered in a voice full of conviction. The golden light emitting from Ian’s fingertips on the screen… It was the specimen of “Perfect Divine Power” that he had been searching for for a long time.

“Those Korean bastards don’t know yet. They don’t realize that it isn’t just a simple healing skill. That is a natural diamond that cannot be cultured in a lab.”

Alexander stood up immediately.

“Prepare the private jet.”

“Pardon? Right now, sir?”

“Yes. Every second counts. I have to get my hands on him before those Koreans realize how to use that jewel.”

He caressed Ian’s face on the screen with his finger. His gaze was like that of a connoisseur appraising the rarest collectible in a display case.

“A Holy Maiden far too precious to remain in Korea.”

A massive predator began to move toward its prey. Korea, which did not yet even understand the concept of “Divine Power,” and the United States, which recognized its value first. The scramble surrounding Ian was now expanding beyond a domestic league into a national confrontation.

***

A luxury villa in Seoul, quiet as the calm before a storm.

This safe house provided by the Phoenix Guild Master, Hong Seo-yun, was the most heavily secured place in South Korea. However, at this very moment, a deterrent more powerful and chilling than any state-of-the-art security system was guarding the house.

“Ian, Hyung is heading out. Keep the door locked. No matter who comes, don’t ever open it.”

Choi Jae-heon gave earnest advice while putting on his shoes at the entrance.

Following yesterday’s hospital incident, the Administration Bureau was in an uproar; business was nearly paralyzed by the flood of inquiries and interview requests. Because Team Leader Yoon Tae-gyeom was screaming through the phone for him to please come out and do something, Choi Jae-heon was forced to head to work.

“Yeah, have a safe trip.”

Ian yawned and waved his hand. Choi Jae-heon glared with an uneasy gaze at Vermouth, who was sitting on the living room sofa polishing his sword.

“You. Take good care of Ian while I’m gone.”

“Do not worry. I will protect Mr. Ian so that not a single scratch touches his body.”

“You certainly talk about a big game.”

As Choi Jae-heon shook his head and left, peace returned to the spacious living room.

Ian sprawled out on the sofa and flipped through TV channels. On the news, the video of the “Hospital Miracle” he caused yesterday was repeating infinitely. He hadn’t wanted it to be made public if possible, but they said it was unavoidable. Since he had received an S-rank, he had to prove his ability with something other than mere numbers.

“Uaaah.”

Ian buried his face in a pillow.

On the screen, he was reaching out his hand while pretending to be holy, and cringeworthy captions like [The Advent of a Saint?] flowed past. Rather than knowing he was actually a Saint, it seemed like a phrase they had just roughly pieced together. Excessive praise was simply embarrassing.

“You look wonderful, Ian.”

“Don’t tease me, seriously.”

“I am being sincere. I have never once told a lie or teased you until now.”

Vermouth offered his praise with a serious face. Ian shook his head and closed his eyes again. Today, he wanted to do nothing but breathe. Since he had caused such a stir yesterday, he figured he could stay quiet for a while. Just as he thought that, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Ding-dong—

Thinking logically, there was almost no one among his acquaintances who would press the bell of this house. If anyone, maybe Yoon Tae-gyeom? Everyone else knew the door code.

‘Could it be a reporter?’

But how would they know about this place? Hong Seo-yun had said very few people knew of this house’s existence. While it was an investment property, it also served as a safe house for the Phoenix Guild.

“Please remain seated. I will go see who it is.”

Vermouth set down his sword and headed to the entrance. Looking through the intercom, a strange foreign man was standing there. He had blond hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a suit that looked expensive even at a glance. For now, he was an unfamiliar face.

“Who are you?”

When Vermouth asked, the foreigner on the screen answered in very fluent, yet strangely arrogant-sounding Korean.

[Open the door. I’ve come to see the Holy Maiden.]

Vermouth’s eyes narrowed.

‘Holy Maiden ?’
