“Excuse me, Alexander.”

Ian cut off Alexander’s words as if slicing through a radish. His previously languid gaze sank coldly in an instant.

“Whether it is demonic energy or demons, I understand well that your situation is urgent. If those demon-like bastards fall into the middle of Seoul later and innocent people get hurt, I will naturally step forward and treat them. Because I am a healer.”

Ian slowly rose from his seat. He looked down at Alexander and spoke clearly, emphasizing every single word.

“However, I will never, for all eternity, work under you. I have no intention of going to America in the slightest.”

“No! Look here. This is not simply a matter of personal profit or national interest!”

“You really don’t understand what people are saying. And here I thought you were a genius?”

Ian shook his head.

“I will stay at Stigma, under my brother, and protect the people I care about. So I have no intention of going anywhere else. Furthermore, things like demonic energy or Divine Power are pieces of information we already know. Do not think you can keep me on a leash with things like this. Got it?”

“You already know?”

“There is no way new monsters would have appeared only in America. You also know about the sudden gate incident that occurred recently, don’t you?”

“I know. However!”

“Then today’s talk ends here. Have a safe trip back.”

Ian turned his back without any lingering regret. As he stepped out, Choi Jae-heon and Vermouth followed right behind him. Only Alexander and Yoon Tae-gyeom were left in the room. Thanks to that, Yoon Tae-gyeom was able to enjoy the sight of Alexander’s distorted expression as the trump card he had confidently pulled out was treated like a piece of scrap paper.

“Now then, shall we talk? There are still things to discuss between our nations, aren’t there? Since we are allies.”

Yoon Tae-gyeom laughed while pushing up his glasses with his middle finger.

‘Ah, that detestable face.’

Alexander clicked his tongue inwardly and faced Yoon Tae-gyeom. He was the most difficult fellow in the Korean Administration Bureau. This was especially true because he was an S rank awakened individual himself.

“Fine, shall we begin the discussion?”

It seemed like it would be a long and boring fight.

After the firm rejection of Alexander’s proposal, Ian predicted that things would be peaceful for the time being. If the guild master of the finest guild in America had been rejected that clearly, it would be normal for him to grab his wounded pride and board a plane to America immediately.

However, Ian knew nothing of the essence of the human known as Alexander Gray. He was the incarnation of capitalism and an arrogant man of power, but behind that, he possessed an exceptionally peculiar temperament that transcended imagination.

“What is that?”

Ian, who had come out for a short walk after his brother said staying only inside the house was bad for his health, discovered something bizarre.

“Ah.”

Choi Jae-heon let out a groan, pressing a hand to his forehead at Ian’s words.

“It is an eyesore. Shall I clear it away?”

Vermouth, standing exactly on the opposite side of Choi Jae-heon, bowed his head toward Ian and asked. It really was an eyesore.

In front of the main gate leading outside, a bright red open top car stood blocking the path. As the flustered security guard who discovered him approached, the door opened and a familiar man revealed himself.

Alexander Gray. He was holding a radiant bouquet of flowers, but no one there knew the name of the flower. It was the Juliet Rose; he had gone through the trouble of making a bouquet out of flowers that cost hundreds of dollars per stem.

“Good day.”

Alexander, uttering fluent Korean, passed the dazed security guard and approached Ian. Then, like a knight from a fairy tale, he sat on one knee and held out the bouquet. The flowers were pretty, but because the person giving them was him, Ian distorted his expression despite himself.

In the meantime, Vermouth stepped forward, took the bouquet instead, and threw it behind him. It was a rude action, but Ian was so dazed watching Alexander’s antics that he couldn’t even stop it.

“Hey, do you know how much those flowers cost?”

Alexander grumbled as he carefully picked up the fallen bouquet again. Vermouth’s gaze toward him was as cold as if he were looking at an insect. Choi Jae-heon was not much different.

“Mr. Ian, please accept them!”

The bouquet was held out in front of Ian once more. Ian’s lips flickered a few times before he quietly accepted the bouquet. He felt that if he didn’t take them, Vermouth would crush the bouquet into pulp this time.
