The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 47.2
‘Because the flowers are innocent.’
But Alexander was certainly guilty of something.
‘What is with this man?’
His perfect proportions, sculpted looks, sophisticated attire, and fluent Seoul dialect were qualities that could bewitch people, but not Ian. That was because Ian had someone by his side whose beauty did not lose to anyone in this world.
For the record, Vermouth won by a landslide in terms of being a total nutcase, too.
“I will accept the flowers with gratitude.”
“Haha, it is nothing! If you wish, I could offer you Juliet Roses every single day!”
“That won’t be necessary.”
Ian spoke firmly.
“Ah, it seems you do not particularly prefer flowers. Then how about this?”
Alexander pulled a small box decorated in purple velvet from his breast pocket.
“Ta-da!”
He opened the box with a vocal sound effect, revealing a beautiful gemstone that gave off a blue glow.
“It is the Spirit’s Protection. It comes from the Water Temple, an A-rank dungeon. Just by holding it, you can protect your body from external attacks. There is a limit on the number of uses, but look at this beauty. How magnificent!”
Before Alexander could say anything more, Choi Jae-heon snatched the box and handed it to Ian.
“Thank you. Now, please leave. Aren’t you quite busy?”
“No matter how busy I am, I have time to spend on you, Mr. Ian. Are you not an S-rank healer? Furthermore, you use a special ability, don’t you?”
Ah, this man. I wish he would just get lost. People were starting to gather one by one around the car parked at the entrance of the villa. It seemed Alexander noticed this as well.
“Everyone seems to think my cutie looks wonderful.”
“…Cutie?”
“Rosso Corsa. That is the name of my cutie. It is made by Ferrari, and it is a product you cannot just buy unless you are a VIP.”
“Ah, okay.”
Ian didn’t particularly want to know. He recoiled in disgust and began to take slow steps backward. He felt like he could just back away gradually and then run inside the house to hide. Alexander had been a great awakened person even when Ian was a child. However, Ian didn’t know he was such a buffoon when watching him on video. It seemed he had been managing his image all this time. When they met before, Ian hadn’t realized he was this much of a clown.
“Sir Alexander!”
As if to prove that point, several people piled out of a black car that had sped up and came to a halt, looking for Alexander.
“I am over here!”
“Why are you here!”
A woman who appeared to be Alexander’s secretary asked while gritting her teeth.
“Well, my Sai—”
The moment Alexander tried to say something, the woman threw the object she was holding in her hand directly at his face. It seemed she was also an awakened person. Her throwing skill was no joke. However, Alexander caught it easily.
“Honest to God, Sarah. Do you have money to burn? What if the phone breaks?”
“Even if it breaks, it is better than letting your mouth stay open. Please return now. The Korean Administration Bureau is going to file a protest.”
“I visited personally this time, though.”
“Nobody else thinks of it that way!”
The woman called Sarah ended up dragging Alexander away. Alexander tried not to be dragged, but after she whispered a few words to him, he became obedient and got back into the car.
“I shall see you again next time!”
Leaving those words behind, the red open-top car quickly left the premises. It was as if a storm had just passed through.
“He was a strange person.”
Choi Jae-heon nodded at Ian’s remark.
“He is a truly bothersome man. Shall I get rid of him if he comes again?”
“That might not be a bad idea.”
For once, Vermouth and Choi Jae-heon’s opinions aligned. Ian was too exhausted to even bother stopping the two of them. Well, Alexander was a famous awakened person in his own right, so he would probably survive on his own.
“I think I’ll end my walk here for today.”
Ian said that and went back into the house. He thought that brief commotion had come to an end. However, the human known as Alexander was more persistent than expected.
Someone rang the bell in the morning, and when Ian went out, a line of people was standing there. Every single one of them was holding a gift box, and the sender for all of them was Alexander.
Ian rubbed his eyes for a moment, doubting if the things piled up in front of him were an illusion. However, no matter how much he tried to escape reality, nothing changed. Choi Jae-heon, who had been cooking in the kitchen, and Vermouth, who had been quietly setting plates at Ian’s word, both came out and saw the sight.
“That man sent all of this?”
The respect for Alexander was slowly disappearing from Choi Jae-heon’s voice.
“He is a madman.”
Vermouth had no respect for him to begin with.
