B rank dungeon, [The Silent Stone Tomb].

Originally, it was a tricky Gate that required teamwork and precise formation maintenance among party members due to the sheer rock walls and Gargoyles popping out from every direction.

The purpose of the adaptation training was also to record data on how Ian, a healer, observed his party members and handled crisis situations in a practical combat environment. However,

Kwa-aaaaang!

Alexander Gray swung his hammer and smashed a Gargoyle that had stepped forward. The Gargoyle’s body was half-shattered in a single blow as it was sent flying far away. They said his strength was likely the greatest in the world. As soon as each Gargoyle woke up, it was sent to the afterlife by him.

“Hahaha! Did you see that just now, Mr. Ian? The way I defeated that Gargoyle!”

Alexander Gray shouted with an exaggerated gesture while his blond hair fluttered. The expensive-looking hammer in his hand sparkled with a golden light.

“This is exactly the kind of unapproachable strength I possess! How is it? Standing behind my back, doesn’t this horrific dungeon feel like a peaceful promenade?”

“Ah, yes.”

Rather than peaceful, Ian’s ears felt deafened. It was the result of being abused by the explosive sounds that erupted constantly. Ian rubbed his ears and gave a soulless round of applause. Because of Alexander’s desire to show off, Ian was not given even a second to actually adapt to the Gate.

‘But that is not the real problem.’

Alexander’s excessive self-praise completely irritated the two beasts walking beside him.

“Ha!”

Choi Jae-heon let out a cold snort while crossing his arms.

“You are making quite a fuss over catching a few Gargoyles by relying on a single weapon. Ian, there is a lot of dust. Don’t go that way.”

“I won’t.”

“Good, well done.”

The moment Choi Jae-heon’s chilly eyes flashed.

Crick, crunch!

Several Gargoyles hiding in the rock walls that Alexander had missed were crushed to death in mid-air by a massive, invisible telekinetic force. It was an overwhelming and clean slaughter that did not allow even a single stone fragment to fly.

“Ugh.”

Seeing that, Alexander let out a bizarre sound and his mouth twitched. But there was still one more left.

“It is an impious thing for the corpses of such vulgar magical beasts to be rolling around on the path Mr. Ian will walk. I shall open the way.”

Ka-ang!

As Vermouth swung his sword, a pure white aura without a hint of turbidity extended to the end of the dungeon in the shape of a massive crescent moon. In the wake of the aura’s passing, not only were there no monsters left, but not even the terrain features remained.

“Huh?”

Alexander rubbed his eyes at the sight. However, the scene before him did not change. The rock walls blocking the path had all disappeared, turning the area into flat ground.

‘I was supposed to be the one to shine!’

Choi Jae-heon was outstanding, but Vermouth was a human beyond standard conventions. Consequently, it felt like Alexander would never be able to beat him no matter how much he rampaged.

“Nothing goes according to plan.”

Alexander coveted both Ian and Vermouth. Korea was such a small land, yet it produced such incredible talent. Or was Vermouth an exception since he said he had naturalized? However, there was no clear information when trying to look up his original nationality. It meant there was some story behind his naturalization as well.

‘I want to know.’

Alexander thought so and lifted his hammer again. Since the dungeon was quite spacious, there were still surviving monsters. Thus, he planned to be active just a little more.

In that manner, the three S-rank awakened individuals devastated the dungeon. Monsters turned into powder and vanished as soon as they appeared, and Ian simply had to trudge along the wide-open flat ground.

The term ‘Gate adaptation training’ could not have been more meaningless.

“……”

Watching that scene from the very back, Yoon Tae-gyeom looked down at his Gate recording pad with a hollow expression.

Only 12 minutes since entry. They were already right in front of the B-rank dungeon’s boss room. At this rate, breaking the record for the shortest Gate clear time was only a matter of time.

‘But no training is happening!’

Ian, the subject of the training, was performing nothing but a walking exercise excellently, while the three beasts were cleaning the Gate on their own. In the midst of that, as expected of S-ranks, they didn’t receive even a single scratch.

“Idiots.”

Yoon Tae-gyeom muttered with hollow eyes.

Not long after, Choi Jae-heon’s telekinesis, Vermouth’s aura, and Alexander’s hammer were swung simultaneously, and the boss, a Red Gargoyle, evaporated without even being able to scream.

Clear in 15 minutes. It was the end of a pathetically futile training session.

“Good work, everyone. I will process this as Choi Ian has fulfilled his mandatory training hours. Please leave immediately.”
