Leslun instinctively covered his mouth. His heart raced.

Similarly, Kailos, who had also heard the sound, casually winked one eye and looked around. Soon, he discovered a hawk sitting by a nearby window.

Even in the darkness, the hawk’s presence was impossible to conceal. It stared at Kailos with a cold gaze, piercing him through the glass.

Leslun seemed not to have noticed the hawk yet.

Kailos approached Leslun without giving him any room to breathe. Leslun stepped back momentarily, but Kailos grabbed him around the waist, snatching him like prey.

“You’ll get caught,” he whispered. At the sound, Leslun’s body stiffened. As if he had been rooted to the spot, he couldn’t move.

He did more than that. He bowed his head as if to bury his face in Kailos’s embrace.

It seemed he thought that as long as his expression wasn’t visible, no one would know his true feelings. Kailos, satisfied with this naive action, pulled Leslun into a tight hug.

They clung to each other, not even a breath of air between them. The atmosphere was thick with an obvious tension that anyone could sense.

Kailos played with Leslun’s hair, twisting it with his fingers.

“Be careful not to get caught. What if rumors start spreading?” he said, continuing to plant bad thoughts in Leslun’s mind to keep him from leaving.

“What if it’s said that the Crown Prince is infatuated with his aide and visits him frequently?”

Leslun flinched and finally lifted his head. His face was pale, as if he had been holding his breath.

Kailos’s words had clearly worried him, and this concern was evident in his eyes. Tears that had been shallowly pooling began to well up, threatening to spill over at any moment.

Kailos pressed his lips to Leslun’s forehead.

“Hm,” Leslun inhaled sharply. Kailos tilted his chin up.

As Leslun’s hand fell, tears streamed down his face. The glistening droplets, caught in the moonlight, sparkled like jewels.

Leslun’s pale skin was flushed with a rosy hue, as if a red blush had been dropped onto it. His fear of being seen by others, coupled with his reactions to the slightest touches from Kailos, only served to fuel Kailos’s desire.

Even though Kailos had intended to scare Leslun, it seemed like it would be fine if the rumors really spread. Leslun’s every action fanned the flames of Kailos’s possessiveness.

All of these feelings were new to him.

“You’re my first in everything, it seems, Leslun,” Kailos said with a bright smile. His obsession with Leslun hung on the edge of his lips.

Leslun shyly smiled, unconsciously averting his gaze. It seemed he didn’t quite believe Kailos’s words.

Well, believe them or not, it doesn’t matter.

The only thing that mattered to Kailos was one thing.

“So don’t worry. I’ll hide it well. In return, you mustn’t run away from me,” Kailos said softly, as if to reassure Leslun.

However, his eyes shone with a cold, playful light.

“If you run, you’ll find out what I’m capable of,” he said, his voice freezing the surrounding air. But it was quickly hidden by a smile as beautiful as a flower. Kailos sought Leslun’s lips.

Even though there were rumors that the Crown Prince met anyone without discrimination, Leslun did not want bad rumors to spread about himself because of Kailos.

Unlike the rumors that he had as many lovers as there were flowers in the garden, Leslun had never actually seen Kailos with anyone. But even now, it was hard to believe that he was the one satisfying Kailos’s desires.

‘If I run…’

Previously, they had been safe, meeting in Kailos’s bedroom or in places where they wouldn’t be seen. But now, here, it was different, and Leslun felt more anxious.

Meanwhile, the hands that had been wrapped around his back and waist began to move more openly.

“Just as I thought,” Kailos said, his hand gripping Leslun’s rounded buttocks firmly. He rubbed against the hidden entrance, and Leslun’s breath caught.

Leslun looked at the countless books lined up on the bookshelf with half-closed eyes. Although it seemed like no one was there in the late-night library, the thrill of being caught and the exhilaration of breaking a taboo were palpable.

Leslun barely suppressed the moan that threatened to escape as he felt the hand pinching his chest.

Meanwhile, the shadowy figure that had been watching them secretly disappeared.
