The Villain’s Aide Has Run Away - Chapter 119.2
As he spoke, Kailos was looking at Blue, not Leslun. After a moment, he turned back to Leslun.
“Just make sure you come back quickly.”
“I will go without sleeping.”
“No, you need to sleep. Forget about coming quickly. Instead, think about me a lot.”
“I will live thinking only of Your Highness.”
Words that could melt ears passed between them. Leslun smiled and responded, but a growing fear crept in.
He might not even survive a single day without longing for him after they parted.
“And when you return…”
Kailos pulled him closer. The force was so strong it felt as if even his breath would be swallowed, leaving Leslun feeling crumpled.
“If I pass this trial safely, promise before the spirit that you will never leave me.”
Leslun’s smiling face immediately stiffened.
“I…”
Leslun could not speak easily.
Seeing him hesitate, Kailos gently grabbed his chin and made him meet his eyes. He lightly brushed his lips against Leslun’s.
“If you do not promise, I will not let you go.”
This was a truly important moment.
A premonition told him that after the decisive battle with the Empress, everyone’s fate would change. In the original novel, the Emperor died, and Cassian, the second prince, was expelled from the palace.
Then now…
“Officially, I will assist Your Highness as your aide.”
“That is not what I wanted to hear.”
“Instead, I will return as Kail’s lover.”
Those were words that could not be said without full resolve.
“Is that sincere?”
“…For now, unofficially.”
Leslun’s calm words carried an underlying desperation. Whether as an aide or a lover, wherever he ended up, he wanted his final place to be by Kailos’s side.
Out of the corner of his eye, Leslun saw Cassian dozing lightly.
“For the sake of His Highness the Crown Prince, it is important to restore everything to its proper place.”
Kailos immediately wore a sullen expression. Even so, he could not refuse Leslun’s request.
“You will do that for me, right?”
Leslun asked gently. Kailos avoided eye contact and muttered softly.
“If that is what you wish, I have no choice.”
Yet in the arms that pulled Leslun even tighter, there was unmistakable lingering affection and possessiveness.

The carriage clattered to a stop.
They were at the entrance of the mountain road leading to the villa.
It was quite far from the Imperial Palace and close to the border. Beyond that border lay the Kingdom of Vancor.
Considering where Leslun needed to go, it was right to part ways here.
Leslun stepped out of the carriage, adjusting the collar of his coat, and faced Kailos.
“If it seems dangerous at any point, return immediately.”
“Understood.”
“If anyone threatens you along the way, give them my name.”
“Yes.”
“And if an emergency arises…”
“Your Highness.”
Leslun reached for Kailos’s hand first.
He could feel a subtle tremor in the tightly held hand. As expected, Kailos was reluctant to send him off alone.
Leslun gently rubbed his hand.
“Do not worry.”
Kailos exhaled deeply at Leslun’s warmth.
“I will trust and wait.”
Even saying that, he seemed hesitant until Leslun released his hand.
Eventually, Kailos turned away from Leslun and reboarded the carriage. His demeanor was surprisingly composed. The clingy behavior from just moments ago was gone, replaced by the dignified presence of the Crown Prince.
As the wheels rolled, dust rose along the dirt road. Leslun stood still, watching the carriage grow distant. He then turned toward a presence approaching beside him.
Blue’s blue eyes sparkled.
“Are you really okay not staying by the Crown Princes’ side?”
[Spirits have a way of communicating with each other.]
On the way to the Kingdom of Vancor, particularly to where the kingdom’s spirit would guide him, Leslun did not refuse Blue’s answer twice.
“Take good care of things.”
Blue knelt in front of Leslun, adjusting his position for an easy ride. Leslun pulled his coat over his head entirely.
Meanwhile, Cassian, now awake, watched his older brother. He did not let go of Leslun’s shrinking figure through the window.
“Will we meet again?”
“I suppose so.”
Kailos answered briefly on purpose, unconsciously hiding the emotions within.
Cassian blinked. He seemed to sense that his brother was hiding something, but he was still too young to understand exactly what it was.
“You are going to the Kingdom of Vancor, right?”
“Yes… to see that person.”
Kailos exhaled.
He was truly reluctant about Leslun going to meet the Crown Prince of Vancor.
