The Villain’s Aide Has Run Away - Chapter 69.1
Sunlight streaming through the curtains stretched in a long line all the way to the sofa where Leslun was lying.
The bright light tickled at his eyes, and Leslun slowly woke from sleep.
Lifting his heavy eyelids, he blinked blankly as he stared ahead.
In his dazed state, he tried to remember when he had fallen asleep the night before—then suddenly shot up.
“I don’t remember.”
He couldn’t recall when he had drifted off.
It must have been while he was working.
The Crown Prince was already gone.
Leslun wanted to tear at his own hair.
Why did he keep showing Kailos such disgraceful sides of himself?
He sighed in frustration, and that was when he noticed something was strange.
His body felt strangely warm.
Something soft and light was draped over his back.
‘A blanket…’
Even half-asleep last night, it had felt this warm.
Because he had slept so comfortably, anxiety now rushed over him and his lips felt dry.
He couldn’t just sit there.
The moment he stood up, he noticed signs that someone had tidied up the room.
The first things he saw were the cleared documents and closed books.
‘He must have sent someone else in.’
That thought came to mind.
Even as he told himself to believe it, sighs escaped from him again and again.
If this had been a place where anyone could come and go, he would have felt relieved.
But because it was not, the weight in his chest grew heavier.

Robin had been busy since early morning because the Crown Prince had suddenly summoned him.
Thinking it must be urgent, Robin had considered bringing Leslun along, but there was no time.
After all, Kailos had gone straight to his own room.
“He actually came in person.”
Robin muttered in surprise.
Kailos, who said he would only be going to Leslun’s room, had now come to see him as well.
“I want to have breakfast.”
Robin pointed out the window, trying to emphasize that the sun hadn’t even risen yet, but this was not the kind of superior who could be swayed by that.
“I’ll have it prepared immediately. Shall I have them make your usual?”
“No.”
Kailos stopped him, then even stepped closer to pat him on the shoulder.
“I want this morning’s breakfast to be very grand.”
“Is someone coming?”
If so, they would have to be more attentive.
“Yes. A very important person…”
The answer was vague.
“Come to think of it, I only gave him the lapis lazuli pen but never gave him breakfast.”
Robin looked at him with an expression of incomprehension.
“That must be why he’s always so drained of energy, nodding off even when he’s doing the studying he loves so much.”
Robin still didn’t quite understand, but nodded obediently anyway.
“You mean we should feed him breakfast. Understood.”
At times like this, it was better not to ask questions and simply help.

Breakfast with the Crown Prince was, as always, orderly and calm.
On the long oak dining table, silver tableware was neatly set alongside the dishes.
All the food smelled wonderfully appetizing, but Kailos hadn’t touched any of it.
Knowing why, Robin made use of the waiting time by looking through some documents.
A short while later, Leslun entered the dining room.
His high-collared uniform and expressionless face were no different from usual, but his hair was damp.
Robin raised his brows suspiciously.
Leslun said nothing, quietly approaching the table.
“My apologies for being late.”
“It’s fine. You’re not just an aide these days, are you? Even if you had two bodies, it still wouldn’t be enough—and you only have one, so what can be done?”
Kailos offered him a generous allowance.
Leslun glanced sidelong at the Crown Prince.
Unlike him, who had woken late and barely managed to wash up, Kailos was radiating composure.
His morning attire, black with a faint tinge of red, was perfectly immaculate.
Even the way he lifted his teacup with a subtle hand movement was flawless.
Receiving the Crown Prince’s gaze, Leslun unconsciously straightened his back.
He had no idea how to face the owner of the shoulder he had unknowingly rested on when he fell asleep last night.
“Aide Leslun.”
At Kailos’s call, Leslun lifted his head and met his eyes.
“Good morning.”
It was a greeting without any particular emotion, but Kailos’s gaze was somehow softer than it had been the day before.
A strange heat slowly spread through Leslun’s body.
“Sit. You’ll need to eat well again today before heading to the Academy.”
The moment Leslun sat down, movement began all around as if they had been waiting.
While the attendants placed plates in front of him one after another, Leslun silently picked up his knife and fork.
He carefully sliced the bread and took a spoonful of soup.
