While Ma Jin-cheol was lost in thought, Baek Seok-gyol approached Min-ha.

“I kept my promise.”

“Yes, thank you.”

You could tell from the way he bowed politely. Min-ha was what you would call a good person. It felt apologetic to keep such a person tied down, but what could they do? They needed, or more accurately, Baek Seok-gyol needed Min-ha.

“Is there anything else you need?”

At Baek Seok-gyol’s question, Min-ha’s eyes sparkled brightly.

“Yes!”

And excitedly, he rattled off the things to fill the kitchen with. Cooking utensils, ingredients, and seasonings, and so on. If it was to that extent, it wasn’t something he couldn’t provide. Judging by this, Baek Seok-gyol looked at Ma Jin-cheol.

“I’ll prepare it.”

As always, such matters were Ma Jin-cheol’s responsibility. Thus, the dining room of the villain hideout, which had been practically empty, met an unexpected change. Every corner was cleaned thoroughly, and a large quantity of ingredients was brought in. And that change even reached the ears of other villains living in the hideout.

Ma Jin-cheol acquired everything more perfectly than Min-ha had imagined. It didn’t even take a full day.

‘Just where did he get all this?’

The refrigerator even contained a jar of caviar, which he had only ever heard about in words. He didn’t even know how to use something like this. Seeing it, he felt a little intimidated. Did they want him to cook using this? Thinking that and tasting a bit, it felt묘하게 strange.

He knew it was an expensive ingredient, but it wasn’t the taste he had expected. Min-ha obediently put the caviar back and pulled out eggs and beef. The food he would provide to Baek Seok-gyol today was beef and egg porridge.

He planned to have him eat porridge for just a few more days and then provide regular meals with a mild flavor. Since he knew Baek Seok-gyolate a lot. Comparing pot sizes, he chose a large one. Overshadowing his initial hesitation between a small pot and a large one, a large bone soup cauldron was used. This time, he soaked the rice sufficiently in water and mashed it. Grandfather always made porridge like this whenever Min-ha was sick.

And what was Baek Seok-gyo doing? Standing right beside such a Min-ha, he was finely chopping the beef.

Chop, chop.

The cutting board Baek Seok-gyol was currently using was the third one. The previous two had been discarded because he ended up carving them up along with the beef. Still, it hadn’t taken long for Baek Seok-gyol to learn how to control his strength.

“I finished cutting it.”

“Then go sit over there and rest for a bit.”

Baek Seok-gyo turned his head and looked at the spot Min-ha pointed to.

“I’m already resting right now.”

Saying that, he smiled again. Baek Seok-gyol’s laughter was increasing rapidly. A slyness always accompanied it. It felt as though a personality he couldn’t help showing previously was finally revealing itself. He lightly hugged Min-ha and stroked his fingers, which had grown cold from washing dishes.

“Sorry.”

Warm water still didn’t come out in the kitchen. With how poorly it had been managed until now, it was a relief that even cold water came out at all.

“No, nooo.”

Min-ha said, awkwardly fidgeting. The ears visible from behind were burning red. Engaging in physical contact while pressed this close to someone was unfamiliar to Min-ha. Although Grandfather was a warm person, he didn’t hug his grandson or pamper him. If anything, he tried to raise him toughly.

However, here, Baek Seok-gyo treated Min-ha like a child. Whenever he woke up from sleep, he would carry him to the dining room in his arms. Even if he said he could walk on his own feet, he wouldn’t listen. And no matter what, he tried to do things in his place right beside him.

It was a unilateral affection that didn’t take the other person into account, but it wasn’t bad. If anything, it seemed nice. He had coaxed and acted spoiled with the grandfather and grandmother in Gamheung-ri too, but this felt different from that.

Min-ha raised his head and looked at Baek Seok-gyol.

“Your bangs.”

“Hm?”

“How about cutting your bangs a little?”
