The Villain’s Recipe - Chapter 15.1
“Mr. Sa-hyeok.”
Yoo Yeon-seo came running toward Kang Sa-hyeok and clung to him. Normally, Sa-hyeok did not like being approached this way, even by a Guide, so this was his chance.
“You worked hard. Your wavelength has become very unstable.”
Yoo Yeon-seo naturally ran his hand along Kang Sa-hyeok’s arm.
From the point of contact, his energy flowed into Sa-hyeok, soothing the power rampaging through him like mad. But even as he received the Guiding, Kang Sa-hyeok unconsciously furrowed his brow. The amount and quality of the Guiding flowing into him were nowhere near enough to suppress the flames raging inside his body.
And it was unpleasant.
‘It would be unreasonable to ask for more.’
There were fewer Guides than Espers, and among them, finding someone whose wavelength matched perfectly was not easy. Yoo Yeon-seo was the best option available for the moment. Kang Sa-hyeok took a deep breath and tried to accept as much Guiding as he could.
‘Because I have to go find Min-ha.’
If he collapsed now, he would not be able to go looking for Min-ha. Kang Sa-hyeok swallowed a sigh inwardly and glanced around.
“I need more Guiding.”
At Kang Sa-hyeok’s words as he pointed toward the tent, Yoo Yeon-seo’s face lit up. Normally, Guiding was done through light physical contact, but sometimes more than that was necessary. Apparently, today was one of those times.
The tents had been set up for precisely that purpose in the first place.
The two entered the nearest tent. With a rough rustling sound, the entrance closed, and without hesitation, Kang Sa-hyeok threw off his top, which was covered in blood and soot.
Thud.
His firm muscles glistened with sweat. The heat of battle had not yet faded, and waves of heat shimmered from his body.
Yoo Yeon-seo swallowed hard as his eyes traveled over Sa-hyeok’s broad back. He slowly approached Kang Sa-hyeok and reached out toward his exposed skin.
And just as he was about to run his hand suggestively down Sa-hyeok’s back, someone barged in.
“Kang Sa-hyeok!”
The tent entrance was roughly pulled open.
“The Management Bureau already contacted us!”
Kim Mi-young, who had been speaking up to that point, saw Kang Sa-hyeok with his upper body exposed and Yoo Yeon-seo beside him. She immediately seemed to realize what was going on and let out a shriek.
As she covered her eyes, she was also subtly spreading her fingers apart.
“Y-you! What do you think you’re doing in a public place?! You can’t show off your body here! Put it back on, put it back on! Receiving Guiding is fine, but at least cover yourself while you do it! What crime did Yoo Yeon-seo’s eyes commit?!”
What crime, indeed? They had been having such a good time.
Yoo Yeon-seo made an incredulous expression. Behind Kim Mi-young, a petite woman smiled shyly and lowered her head.
She was another Guide matched with Kang Sa-hyeok, and her matching rate was higher than Yoo Yeon-seo’s.
55%.
It was not particularly high either, but since it was higher than Yoo Yeon-seo’s, she was practically Kang Sa-hyeok’s first Guide.
‘Only a 4% difference.’
Yoo Yeon-seo thought so, but apparently, others saw things differently.
Whenever there was a need for Guiding, Kim Mi-young would often interfere between the two like this. And afterward, another Guide, Seo Mun-ji-yeon, would take their place under the pretense of helping.
“Senior, are you okay?”
Look at her. She was already clinging to him like a fox, and Yoo Yeon-seo’s face twisted fiercely.
But Kim Mi-young did not care in the slightest.
Someone like Seo Mun-ji-yeon, who had no ulterior motives, was better than Yoo Yeon-seo, who was showing personal interest despite their wavelengths not matching.
She did not have the same malicious intentions as Yoo Yeon-seo, nor was she obsessed with Kang Sa-hyeok.
Yoo Yeon-seo had even asked her once why she was like that.
“Maybe it’s because of the matching rate? There’s actually another Esper whose matching rate with me is over 80%. If Senior gets a proper Guide, I’ll go to him.”
That was what Seo Mun-ji-yeon had said.
Yoo Yeon-seo tapped the floor impatiently with his foot before glaring at Kim Mi-young.
“Team Leader Kim, what are you doing at a time like this? Can’t you see we were in the middle of Guiding?”
“Oh my, were you? But I brought another Guide with me, didn’t I?”
After all, you can’t manage with just you alone.
Kim Mi-young’s words were laden with that meaning, and Yoo Yeon-seo began trembling all over.
