Transmigrated as the Side Top used as an Emotional Trash Can - Chapter 16.2
“How do I convince them that they can’t catch it?”
Touching the yeti also turned you into ice. Because of that, there were some boys I couldn’t save no matter how many times I revived. The fearless, aggressive members of the survivor team always died first, which was a tremendous loss. The boys who had wanted to stay back and observe the situation became frightened after witnessing those deaths.
My ankle injury made it difficult for me to move, and the remaining boys were too intimidated to act. Those were the main reasons I had been forced to die more than forty times.
“I need to persuade the others to run while avoiding the bullets.”
That was the greatest challenge. I needed to convince the aggressive fighters to flee while escaping the yeti myself.
“We run away… and then what?”
We couldn’t touch the yeti, and it was armed. But we couldn’t keep running forever either. Ultimately, it had to be a game where we defeated it to win, just like the Mugunghwa Flower game.
“Should we lure it somewhere high and make it fall to its death?”
Or was there some other method… Hmm, wait. A yeti?
“Would that work?”
After coming up with a rough solution, I pressed the ‘Yes’ button.
―Ding-dong-.
I returned to the moment when the second game began and asked the excited boys holding the teddy bear,
“Does anyone have a lighter?”
I need to set the school on fire.

“What… is all this?”
When I said lighter, I had only imagined cheap disposable lighters worth about five hundred won that companies handed out for free. But the ones held out before me were surprisingly elaborate. There was everything from turbo lighters that ignited with the click of a button to Zippo lighters decorated with knockoff Chr*me Hearts parts.
“Three out of the five people here have lighters?”
I clicked my tongue at the sight of these all-boys high schoolers’ possessions, each one overflowing with swagger.
Was the entire country secretly filming me for a prank? Had smoking actually been proven to have an extremely positive effect on learning?
“…At least it’s a relief that you don’t smoke, hyung.”
I spoke to the pierced second-year sunbae, the only one who hadn’t taken out a lighter. A round of applause for your natural-monument-level student innocence….
“Oh, I use a vape.”
I was about to applaud him, but instead I wanted to raise my hand and slap him across the face.
You brats, haven’t you heard of not smoking? Even I don’t smoke, and I’m twenty-eight years old. What are you doing?
“But why do you need a lighter?”
As my head filled with old-man thoughts, the first-year student wearing a track jacket asked me.
“Wouldn’t setting a fire and calling people here be faster than going outside to ask for help?”
At first glance, my answer sounded plausible. But if you examined it carefully, it was unbelievably idiotic.
“Oh, that actually makes a shitload of sense.”
“What a man.”
Despite how idiotic the idea was, the boys agreed, apparently thinking this was their only chance to set fire to the school. What was I supposed to do with these accomplices to arson of an occupied building? It was convenient not to argue over the plan, but I was becoming worried about the future of this country.

“U, uwaagh!”
“Run! Run!”
The survivor group and I gathered every piece of wastepaper and every curtain we could find and successfully started a fire. The yeti in the white ghillie suit moved slowly, so we even managed to set its body on fire, but….
“Gueeeeeegh-!”
I hadn’t imagined that the yeti would spray black liquid everywhere and thrash madly as it collapsed in agony.
“It’s burning! It caught fire! Get outside!”
Whatever chemical composition the black liquid spraying from the dying yeti had, it made the flames burn even more fiercely, like some kind of flammable substance. Because of that, the fire showed no sign of going out even after the sprinklers activated several times.
“Uh…! Guys! Don’t leave me…!”
The boys abandoned me and fled from the rapidly spreading flames. Surrounded by black smoke and scorching heat, I couldn’t even resent them. I merely collapsed and coughed. I felt like Gaeddong, who lost control of the fire while playing jwibulnori and burned down his entire thatched house.
I’m dead now. Guess I’ll have to die.
“But this is the first time I saved everyone….”
Perhaps it was because I had watched my friends die dozens of times before my eyes inside that cramped karaoke room in middle school, but no matter how often I experienced it, I never grew accustomed to seeing others die repeatedly. If I could save them, I preferred to let them live. I hadn’t been able to do that during the ‘Zombie Apocalypse.’
“Cough, cough-.”
“?”
Just as I was about to give up on everything, someone who had been hiding inside the cleaning supply closet crawled out on all fours, trembling violently.
