The surroundings fell silent in an instant, and I felt spacetime briefly defy the laws of physics. I must have spent too long overthinking everything by myself. Judging by the way the words came out.

I could feel that Kim Jihwan and Cha Gwonhyeok had no idea how to react to my abruptly phrased question, which only made me flustered instead.

“…Uh, I meant let’s eat bingsu at a hotel. Hotel bingsu.”

Sorry, guys, for saying something so stupid. Save the hotel for when the two of you grow up and spend a hot night together. With me, let’s just go demolish some absurdly expensive, gold-priced bingsu piled high with seasonal fruit.

“Which hotel?”

When Cha Gwonhyeok asked, I answered.

“It’s called Dongsangimong Hotel. It’s across the Han River.”

Cha Gwonhyeok nodded as though he understood and tried to call someone.

“Ahhh! Wait-! Stop!”

I urgently raised my hand and stopped him. Whenever obsessive main tops called someone, it felt like an insanely expensive, ultra-luxurious top-floor boutique suite would be reserved, and a helicopter would be dispatched to pick us up.

“Haha, Gwonhyeok-ah, I’m not asking you to buy it for us. Take this opportunity to learn how to let someone else treat you.”

“He says he’ll spend the money. Let him.”

Kim Jihwan clicked his tongue quietly, sounding slightly disappointed.

“I like simple things, Jihwan-ah.”

Daily Quest: Say ‘I like you’ (10/10)

A reward will be granted.

Random Reward

“?”

Wait, that counted?

It was absurd, but a reward was still a reward. Saying I was going to call a taxi to the hotel, I moved a short distance away from the others and opened the box.

Pop-!

This time, a black cloud burst into existence, and a peculiar black box tied with a red ribbon settled onto my hands.

Creepypasta Fragment (Head) 03:00:00

The countdown will automatically activate once certain conditions are met.

My joy at receiving something new that wasn’t a dud for the first time lasted only briefly. An intensely ominous feeling came over me, and I stared blankly at the system window for a while.

Was another ghost going to appear?

Please….

Truffle Pure-Gold Milk Bingsu topped with domestically grown apple mangoes cultivated using Master Park Changrye’s traditional organic farming methods, 410,000 won

I could say with certainty that today was my first encounter with Mr. Park Changrye. I didn’t know what made him a master of growing apple mangoes or what traditional organic farming methods he insisted on using, but my jaw nearly dropped at the fact that putting those mangoes on top made the bingsu cost over 400,000 won.

And why did truffles act like a cheat code for pricing? Every time they appeared in something, the price rose shamelessly.

I stared endlessly at the menu and began to feel slightly dizzy, so I avoided the price by looking at the tiny text written underneath.

Add caviar 80,000 won

Add condensed milk 10,000 won

Crazy.

The world was clearly going crazy. No, perhaps the world was perfectly fine, and I was the one going insane. World, I’m sorry. But I’m not wealthy enough to burn 400,000 won on a single meal.

Like a delicate, sickly bottom collapsing weakly from dizziness, I was one step away from being carried out on a stretcher after seeing the deranged bingsu price when Kim Jihwan snapped me out of it.

“You said it’s free anyway. Why are you pretending to choose?”

“If you came here for bingsu, just order the bingsu. What are you looking around for?”

“I’m curious-.”

Kim Jihwan was carefully folding a paper crane from a napkin. He seemed to like the napkins here because he was already folding a second one.

“What about your drinks? I’ll buy them.”

I tried my best to act generous, preparing to buy their drinks while secretly calculating the price of the cheapest espresso.

“If you order bingsu here, drinks are probably included.”

Cha Gwonhyeok replied as though he were familiar with the place. I was slightly embarrassed that I had revealed I had never visited somewhere this fancy before, but the relief that settled over my body and mind was far greater, so I was grateful instead.

“Then I’ll have apple juice.”

“I’ll have sparkling water.”

“An Americano.”

We each ordered fruit juice, coffee, and sparkling water through the touch pad. A large floor-to-ceiling window stood beside our table, and the summer cityscape visible through it was green and vivid.

“I hope the bingsu comes out soon.”

“Me too.”

“Fuck, it’s hot….”

Hoping the bingsu would arrive quickly, the three of us clapped twice together.

Clap, clap.

At once, every person in the hotel cafeteria rose to their feet, looked at us, and copied us by clapping twice.

Clap, clap.

Ah, I wondered when the bingsu would come out.

The conditions have been met. The countdown has been activated.

Wait, why did I clap?
