Wrong Genre! - Chapter 19.2
Seeing this, Felix picked up the shawl and ground his teeth.
“How dare they… What bastard did this?”
The moment he muttered in a low voice, a white aura began to swirl around him. The pure white energy rising from his body started to gather around the shawl, and soon several scenes flashed before Felix’s eyes.
“If you’re a guy, it’s even better for me..”
A man flashing a filthy smile at Rueg.
“His Highness gave this to me…”
Rueg, his face swollen as if he’d been slapped, clutching the shawl and sobbing in the office.
“Your Highness, Your Highness, help… please help…”
And then Rueg, collapsing before he could even finish his words.
These images flickered one after another in front of Felix’s eyes.
“That bastard. How dare he…”
Lay a hand on what’s mine?
I’ll kill him. I’ll tear his limbs apart, and make him writhe in pain until he begs me to end it.
Unable to contain the emotions crawling up from inside, Felix growled. Just then, he sensed a wave of power similar to his own not far away.
“…Rueg?”
Felix unconsciously spoke that name aloud.
He wasn’t sure why, but he felt that if he followed this energy, he would find Rueg.
As if possessed, Felix got up from his seat, opened the window, and stepped out into the air.
“…Y-Your Highness!”
A patrolling knight called out to him in surprise, but Felix’s crimson eyes flashed as he spoke.
“Bring the troops and follow me. Just a second late and you, too, will lose your life.”
Leaving behind those chilling words, Felix immediately changed direction. As he flew through the cold wind, he could feel the white light that protected his body gradually depleting.
“Where… Where is he…”
Just once. If he could just sense that energy one more time, he was sure he could find him.
Unable to hide his impatience, Felix looked around. Then, he felt a faint, feeble power gathering in one place.
“Rueg.”
As he softly called out his name, he saw a knight with a sword drawn standing in front of Rueg.
“…How dare you.”
With a cold, emotionless voice—
BANG!
A massive sword of light came crashing down on Mason, who was standing before Rueg.
Blinding streaks of light flashed by with a roar.
The moment the Mason, who had been advancing to take his life, disappeared in an instant, someone descended from the sky and pulled Rueg into a tight embrace.
“…W-What…?”
Rueg, too stunned to speak, trembled.
“Rueg.”
A gentle, warm voice reached his ears.
“Y-Your Highness…?”
Still unable to believe it, Rueg stammered as Felix slowly pulled back and met his gaze.
Black hair shining brilliantly in the sunlight, red eyes trembling with worry and emotion.
“Your Highness…”
It was really, truly Felix…
Only then did Rueg’s tense face finally relax.
Looking into those golden eyes, nearly brimming with tears, Felix spoke in a gentle voice.
“Yes, I came because you called me.”
“……”
“I wasn’t too late, was I?”
At the gentle voice, Rueg bit his lip and shook his head.
“…Not late at all.”
“……”
“Thank you, for coming… truly, truly… thank you so much…”
At the tearful reply, Felix gently patted Rueg’s back.
Wrapping his arms around Rueg’s trembling shoulders, Felix spoke.
“You must be tired.”
“……”
“Get some sleep. From now on, nothing you see will be anything you need to see.”
“I-I have something to report…”
As if afraid to fall asleep, Rueg shook his head and buried his face in Felix’s shoulder.
But the moment he finished speaking, the white light that had risen began to cling to Rueg’s body.
“You can report… after you wake up from a nap.”
“……”
“So don’t worry, just sleep for a bit.”
As Felix continued, Rueg felt his strength leaving his body.
Feeling as if he might fall asleep at any moment, Rueg whispered.
“Don’t… get hurt…”
“……”
“That man… he’s really dangerous…”
At last, when Rueg succumbed to sleep and closed his eyes, Felix’s gaze finally landed on Mason, who was lying in the overturned carriage.
“Well, since it’s you who asked…”
“……”
“I’ll make sure not to get hurt.”
Felix spoke slowly as he watched Mason stagger to his feet, a slow smile spreading across his face.
He would make sure that trash could never hurt Rueg again.
He was determined to make it thorough.
