Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 21.1
It felt like a storm had just swept through.
Cielo clutched his throbbing head, while Oscar, sitting beside him, kept gently brushing back his hair.
Cielo didn’t know it, but Oscar was removing the pheromones that clung to him.
“…Sorry.”
Ryan, sitting across from Cielo, spoke with his head bowed low.
“For what?”
“For releasing my pheromones without permission.”
Ryan mumbled as if he were being punished.
He fidgeted so much while speaking that he looked like a puppy, and before he realized it, Cielo reached out and patted his head.
“It’s alright. Honestly, thanks to you, I could finally breathe. For some reason, that person’s pheromones were just disgusting.”
Cielo spoke frankly.
Not all alphas’ pheromones were like that. It was only Eli’s that felt revolting. He hated the scent, hated seeing his face, and hated hearing his voice.
It was as if the disgust was rising not from his own emotions, but from something that had been carved into his body by someone else.
“Should I just go kill him?”
“Who?”
“Eli van Asta.”
“…Are you serious?”
“Yeah.”
Cielo let out a hollow laugh. Ryan was so serious, eyes glowing coldly, that for a moment he almost forgot it might be a joke.
“Don’t. You’ll be branded a traitor.”
“If I succeed, it’s called a revolution.”
“Even if His Highness the Crown Prince was a nuisance on the battlefield, he still returned alive. He’s considered a war hero. I don’t want you to be in danger.”
At Cielo’s words, Ryan opened his mouth but said nothing.
“I fight monsters stronger than humans just fine.”
“Even so. I want to avoid putting someone precious to me in danger.”
Ryan’s eyes widened at Cielo’s answer.
He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but couldn’t. In the end, with ears flushing red, he slumped over the table.
“I proposed first.”
“…”
“If it weren’t for the kid I’m raising, I would’ve married you.”
Ryan subtly reached out and tapped Cielo’s thin fingers. When Cielo didn’t react, his large hand gently covered Cielo’s.
“Be with me, Cielo.”
“…”
“Be family with me too.”
Ryan remained slumped over, his small eyes glancing up at him.
It might not suit a grown man to look like that, but with Ryan’s handsome features, the expression looked unexpectedly beautiful.
But Cielo couldn’t give him an answer.
“…Because the child hasn’t grown up yet.”
Cielo gave the same response he had three years ago and tried to pull his hand away.
But Ryan tightened his grip to stop the small hand from slipping away.
“Then once that little kid becomes an adult… what about then?”
His eyes were desperate.
Cielo looked quietly into them and bit the soft flesh inside his mouth.
In the original story, Ryan didn’t love Oscar. Even after helping him, all he said was something vague like, “Maybe I did feel something special for you.”
Ryan wasn’t a main character, nor was he someone who ended up with Cielo.
Cielo didn’t feel anything for Ryan. He liked the kindness, felt warmth in his chest, and it made him happy.
But he was afraid.
At first, all he had wanted was for Oscar to grow up loved. He hoped the boy would overcome his memories of abuse and become bright and hopeful. And little by little, that wish was coming true.
But eventually, time would pass. Oscar would become an adult. He would awaken as an omega and grow stronger. And then, the original story would begin. Oscar would go out and heal people one by one.
To do that, Oscar had to meet many people.
The novel said this:
[Oscar would leave his room early every morning and return late at night.
It was because his master, Cielo, would hit and curse him whenever he saw him.
So Oscar always hid in places where Cielo wouldn’t find him.
And in that process, he met many people.
A servant named Amila who worked in the dining hall.
A doorman gnome who guarded the entrance to the palace.
And even Hanaoh, the servant assigned to Cielo’s room.
They were the ones who helped Oscar survive within the palace.]
But the current Oscar didn’t know them. He wasn’t close to them and said he had never even spoken to them.
Was it just not the right time yet? Wondering that, Cielo searched for those people — but that wasn’t it.
They were inside the palace.
It was just that Oscar no longer needed their help, because Cielo wasn’t abusing him anymore. Naturally, there was no reason for him to form bonds with them.
“If I stay here any longer…”
Oscar won’t follow the events of the novel.
And in the end, he won’t meet the alphas who could’ve loved him.
“…I want to stay.”
