Finding out that luck comes whenever the two of them are together, it would have been great if he could just be purely happy, but somehow his heart was heavy.

He recalled the time when he tumbled down the stairs together with Cha Jeongwon.

Starting from that day, Ha-on’s daily life twisted strangely.

That was why Ha-on wondered if Cha Jeongwon’s misfortune had rubbed off on him. It was merely a guess, but now it was becoming a fact that could not be ignored.

That it was nonsense. The notion that someone’s misfortune could infect another person like a cold no longer sounded like a joke.

Senior’s misfortune rubbed off on me, and when we touch, luck comes doubly in reverse?

In the first place, was luck and misfortune something that could be neatly divided? Could it be that they rolled along as one clump, mixed to the point where one couldn’t tell where luck started and where misfortune began?

No. Are the suite room and 1st place all popping easily because they’re hotel-affiliated events? Because a senior is a regular at this hotel?

Ha-on, who had casually categorized Cha Jeongwon as a regular before he knew it, let out a soft sigh.

A good thing happened, so I should be happy, but strangely it feels uncomfortable.

His heart was too complicated to just be purely happy. Somehow it felt as if they were intertwined with each other.

The balloons hanging above the booth swayed lightly in the wind.

The staff was still continuing his explanation of the 1st place prize. People threw darts, aiming to win the only remaining 1st place prize left now. In the middle of that commotion, only the two of them were strangely quiet.

“Senior.”

Ha-on is called Cha Jeongwon.

His throat was parched. It was to the extent that a swallowing sound could be heard, but strangely he didn’t want to avoid his eyes.

Without running away, he wanted to watch this situation to the very end. Cha Jeongwon’s face was still rigidly stiff.

Looking only at his expression, there seemed to be no change, but the tip of his ear was distinctly red.

Of all places, it was the same side where he kissed him.

***

It was a suffocatingly awkward time.

The dart game was over. Since they came out of a bustling place, he felt like he should say something.

Normally, in an atmosphere like this, he would somehow find an excuse. But right now, it is so difficult.

Ha-on kept his mouth tightly shut, as if someone had stuck his lips together with glue.

What if he says he’s leaving just like this?

Thank you for eating tteokbokki with me.

Enjoy the hotel 1st place benefits well.

Did you get 1st place thanks to my kiss?

What on earth can I even say?

He wanted to grab his own hair like this, but Ha-on tried hard to turn his eyes elsewhere. Meanwhile, he suddenly paused upon seeing a prop shop along the street.

Only then did Ha-on realize that he had taken a walk for quite a long time in the meantime.

Frantic due to the awkward atmosphere, he had ended up walking all the way to a road he didn’t usually walk. Thanks to that, he was able to discover a store with a good vibe.

Inside the glass window, mug cups and decor objects were densely displayed under soft lighting.

Without even turning his head, Ha-on grabbed the hem of Cha Jeongwon’s clothes as he was walking away. Cha Jeongwon, who was blocked while moving forward, took steps backward and returned to Ha-on’s side.

“Do you want to drop by there for just a moment before going?”

Cha Jeongwon turned his head following the direction Ha-on was looking. It was a thoroughly lukewarm reaction.

“If we don’t go in, I feel like I’ll think about it every night. Right?”

“If I say no, it means I won’t be letting you sleep.”

“That’s right.”

When Ha-on nodded his head greatly, Cha Jeongwon moved his steps first.

In truth, he thought he would refuse. Or he thought he would hold out by saying no once or twice, but he accepted it quite meekly compared to what he expected.

That turned out well.

It was awkward anyway.

Ha-on showed a subtle smile and followed Cha Jeongwon.

The moment he opened the door, a small bell chimed.

Gentle music was flowing inside the shop. The props placed on the wooden shelves were even more numerous than what was seen from the outside.

Roughly textured mug cups that looked hand-molded, small concrete-textured flower pots, candles, and even small canvases were all things that captured Ha-on’s eyes.

“It’s really nice here. Super cute, and… the structure is good too.”

The words that flowed out naturally sputtered toward the end. After clearing his throat, Ha-on spoke with a very serious face.

“While I like the outdoors, I also have a lot of interest in interior decorations. The height variation that can be seen naturally following the flow of movement here is wonderful.”
