Don't You Need an Omega Lucky Charm - Chapter 4.1
“What an unlucky guy.”
There was no time to think. Haon’s body moved first.
The moment Haon pushed Cha Jeongwon out from under the structure, he simultaneously felt a pair of hands wrap tightly around his waist.
The world spun. The floor and ceiling flipped, and the smooth marble floor came rushing straight into view.
Cha Jeongwon pulled Haon into his arms, and the two rolled across the floor together.
Following the stairs, this was happening again!
Crash!
As the structure fell, the lobby instantly turned into pure chaos. It was so heavy that the marble floor cracked. Dust rose up between the shattered floor tiles.
The staff at the reception desk ran over screaming. Along with a child’s crying, the people gathered nearby backed away all at once.
“…”
Sensing that nothing more was going to happen, Haon carefully opened his eyes.
Cha Jeongwon was rolling on the floor while wrapping himself around Haon.
He had pushed him to save him, but instead, he was wrapped in his arms, being protected by him.
A broad back, the strength wrapped around his arms, the rough breathing brushing past his ear.
He had passed out immediately on the stairs so he did not know what happened, but it felt like he would never be able to forget this second time even if he tried.
‘…What is this?’
Haon’s heart beat like crazy.
Every time he inhaled, he could feel a sweet yet heavy scent coming from him. It was sweet as if it would melt in his mouth, yet it felt like something was pressing down heavily on his chest.
A dangerous scent, tight enough to make his whole body tense up. It was an Alpha’s pheromone.
It was his first time experiencing a pheromone this thick. That was not all. It felt as though his instincts were whispering that he was safe inside these arms.
“…Crazy bastard.”
Cha Jeongwon’s characteristic deep voice echoed near his ear. It was a curse, but it did not feel bad.
Perhaps because Cha Jeongwon’s face was so close, Haon could see all the furrows on his brow and his tense jawline. An emotion, unsure whether it was anger or surprise, was reflected in his eyes.
“Jumping in all of a sudden, have you completely lost your mind?”
Cha Jeongwon got up.
For a moment, Haon thought it was a pity that Cha Jeongwon’s pheromones were moving further away.
‘What on earth am I thinking!’
Snapping back to his senses late, Haon stood up abruptly following him.
Cha Jeongwon did not leave Haon behind like he did a moment ago. Haon stared at him standing still. It was as if he was waiting for Haon to stand up.
Perhaps because of the incident that just occurred, his eyes looked even sharper.
“I-I’m okay.”
Perhaps due to the dust, his throat felt stuffed. Haon coughed repeatedly.
Right beside his feet, a portion of a metal fragment was embedded sideways into the cracked marble. Bent metal pieces and shattered glass fragments were scattered right where the two had been.
If they had been just a little closer, they would have been lying side by side right in the middle of that spot. Shivers ran down his spine naturally.
Then, his thoughts reached Cha Jeongwon’s wrist.
“Senior, your wrist! What about your wrist?”
Didn’t he push himself up with that wrist when he stood up earlier?
When Haon looked at the bandaged wrist, Cha Jeongwon’s jaw tightened ever so slightly.
Although he tried to brush his hand off indifferently, his face hardened slightly as if a brief wave of pain passed beneath the bandage.
As soon as Haon grabbed his hand to check his wrist, Cha Jeongwon swatted Haon away.
“It has nothing to do with you. I am not going to die, so you should be careful.”
Cha Jeongwon replied coldly and turned around.
Haon followed a beat late.
“I just saw it. You acted like it didn’t hurt when it did.”
Without even turning around, Cha Jeongwon threw a word back.
“If you saw it, keep your mouth shut.”
“Still, it’s a good thing you put on the bandage, right?”
Cha Jeongwon’s footsteps paused for a brief second. That was his answer.
Haon looked at his retreating back. Clutching his aching body after rolling around twice today, he offered a farewell greeting that Cha Jeongwon would not be able to hear.
“It was tough being together, and let’s never see each other again.”
He hoped today’s events would end as a simple isolated incident.
Cha Jeongwon walked further and further away.
Then, starting at a certain point, he got closer and closer again.
Why did he come back? Haon did not even have time to push him away as he turned back mid-walk.
“You…”
“I’m Yoon Haon.”
