As soon as they entered the dorm, the first thing Da-sol did was make Jae-gyeong sit on the sofa. Then he plopped down on the floor directly across from him.

Even though Da-sol sat so low, and despite being small and doll-like, his gaze was so intimidating that he did not feel small at all. Jae-gyeong slouched on the sofa, shivering.

“Jeong Jae-gyeong hunter.”

Da-sol called him in a strict, teacher-like tone. Jae-gyeong blinked rapidly and replied, “Y-yes…”

“Why did you try to take the blame for yourself?”

“Um…?”

“Are you really an idiot?”

“No, um—”

“Didn’t you notice how disgusting those guys’ intentions were? Especially Oh Sang-min, that bastard. Didn’t you realize he was scheming against you all this time?”

Jae-gyeong furrowed his brow. Oh Sang-min was scheming against me?

“What do you mean scheming… Do you mean… what do I think you mean…?”

“Yes. Dating or sleeping together, that kind of thing.”

Da-sol answered with apparent annoyance. Jae-gyeong was completely shocked.

“Oh… I thought Oh Sang-min hunter liked Da-sol…?”

“He did. That bastard. But he got beaten by me and couldn’t even meet my eyes for a while. Then he chose a new target. That’s you.”

Jae-gyeong had no idea. Not even in his wildest dreams.

“I… never… had a guy… I’ve never had a guy like that… I didn’t know…”

“It’s not that nothing happened, it’s just that you were completely oblivious.”

“…!”

Could that be true? He had never been confessed to by a man, though he could not speak for women. Jae-gyeong suddenly reflected on his life. Da-sol looked at him with disdain and continued speaking.

“Then why did you cover for those bastards? You think you’re a real angel just because your skill makes wings appear?”

Jae-gyeong hesitated before speaking.

“Um… but Da-sol… I’m really sorry…”

“What?”

“I really did curse them… And when I was in JK Guild, I also beat a lot of hunters…”

“…What?”

“I was just stating the facts…”

“………What did you say?”

Da-sol repeated “What?” like a broken machine. His expression did not change much, but it was clear he was extremely surprised. Jae-gyeong felt embarrassed and hung his head. He began to explain.

“It’s just that Oh Sang-min hunter… seemed to have a thing for you… So I called him a narrow-minded guy… and also criticized him. In my old guild… there were hunters who harassed a female member… Somehow I quietly handled it… They were not lying…”

A brief silence passed. Jae-gyeong glanced up at Da-sol. His mouth was slightly open, staring blankly. His features were so neat and pretty that Jae-gyeong was momentarily stunned too.

“So… you really did curse them, and you really beat people in your old guild?”

It sounded like he was a gangster, but it was true. Jae-gyeong nodded. Da-sol gave a faint smile.

Jae-gyeong expected Da-sol to get angry, scold him, or call him out for being deceived. That seemed like something Da-sol’s personality would do.

But surprisingly, Da-sol said nothing. He just ran his tongue along one cheek and seemed deep in thought.

“Um… Da-sol, are you angry…?”

Jae-gyeong asked cautiously. If he said yes, Jae-gyeong was ready to kneel and meet his gaze. Just sitting on the sofa looking down at Da-sol made him extremely uneasy.

“Why?”

“Just… you defended me… and then I told you I really did those bad things…”

“I don’t really think they were that bad. I’m just surprised, that’s all.”

Da-sol said bluntly. Jae-gyeong was surprised and looked at him. Da-sol added:

“That bastard was narrow-minded, and you were right to beat the guys who harassed women. I’m just surprised because you’re a little different from how I imagined Jeong Jae-gyeong hunter.”

Then he stood up.

“Well… you did well. That’s enough.”

Da-sol left a brief comment and went into his room. Jae-gyeong sat still for a moment, blinking, then jumped up.

Da-sol just praised me…!

Of course, it was praise for cursing and beating people, but his intentions were good, so he said it was well done. Jae-gyeong only felt sorry for dragging Da-sol and Ri-na into this, but he was not truly reflecting on his wrongdoing. His mood brightened immediately.

Jae-gyeong hurried to his own room, grabbed a shiny new t-shirt from a luxury shopping bag, and went to Da-sol’s room.

Knock knock. He knocked and said:

“Da-sol, can I come in for a moment…?”

He thought now was the perfect timing to give the gift. If he apologized and offered compensation while the mood was warm, their relationship would improve dramatically.
