That Face Is the Problem - Chapter 44.2
Jae-gyeong glanced reluctantly at the driver’s seat and passenger seat, nodding slightly. Only then did Yejin move away.
At that moment, Ri-na’s voice came from the back.
“Eh?”
“Oppa, why did you glare at Yejin so fiercely all of a sudden?”
“Huh? Me?”
Yejin heard her name and turned around. Jae-gyeong also turned his body toward the back seat. However, Da-sol, as before, was wearing headphones and staring out the window, and Lee Hyeon sat looking confused with his bright eyes.
Ri-na, sitting facing forward, spoke instead.
“Just now, Da-sol glared really hard at her. And Shintang-nim too. Were they whispering something? Were they cursing at Da-sol? Da-sol has surprisingly good hearing, he hears everything. Those headphones might even have no music playing. It’s a trap.”
Da-sol shot Ri-na a sideways glance, and she noticed that his hearing claim was probably true.
Jae-gyeong felt a little intimidated and sat up straight, facing forward. If he met Da-sol’s gaze, he felt he would encounter an absolutely terrifying stare.
But Yejin laughed openly and said,
“Da-sol, I didn’t curse at you. You know that, right? You know how much I like you.”
“Ah, really?”
“You like me too, right?”
“Ah, really?”
“Our whole team likes you, right?”
“I’ll turn on the noise canceling.”
Da-sol pressed the noise-canceling button, and Yejin laughed as if she were having the time of her life, showing no sign of being hurt. Ri-na also laughed, clutching her stomach. Jae-gyeong secretly admired them and blinked in astonishment.
“If it were me, I would have started crying from the second answer already.”
Jae-gyeong swallowed hard. He tried to act calm and asked, “Da-sol, you like me too, right?” but if Da-sol replied with his typical unfocused gaze… he felt he would definitely burst into tears.
Of course, he knew this was a team that had coordinated for a long time. Jeong Jeong-eon had joined Da-sol for about three and a half years, and the rest had been running dungeon raids together for over five years.
So it was natural that Jae-gyeong, who had just been at the guild for about a month, could not get used to it. But Lee Hyeon, who had joined just a week ago, did not seem to feel left out at all.
“Am I the only one being so sensitive…”
Jae-gyeong rested his forehead against the car window and blamed himself. Being naturally delicate and timid, falling into a self-blame spiral like this was the easiest thing for him.
In the past, his first love had said to him,
“You are the most troublesome person I have ever met.”
Young Jae-gyeong had, of course, shed a few tears back then, and the girl had shrugged and added,
“But I don’t really dislike you. So don’t cry.”
Then she rubbed his eyes vigorously to wipe away the tears. She had really strong hands.
Thinking back, her personality seemed somewhat similar to Da-sol. Her appearance was similar to Da-in’s, so she might have been similar to Da-sol as well.
The history of failed love had effectively begun at that point. Meeting that girl had solidified Jae-gyeong’s tastes, and unfulfilled love had continued in a chain, only with different people.
But could this even be called love? Isn’t love supposed to be something eternal and unchanging? Jae-gyeong’s self-blame eventually spread to this thought.
While he was mulling over all this, the car arrived at the parking lot of the Huntrion Apartments.
“Let’s get out first. We’ll just kiss for a moment and then go upstairs. Wait in front of the elevator~”
Hee-ro said playfully, and Jeong Jeong-eon, his face red, scolded him, “Hee-ro nim!” Hee-ro laughed, “Ahaha, it’s not a joke,” and gently pulled Jeong Jeong-eon’s head toward him to start a kiss.
“Oh, oh my, how embarrassing…” Jae-gyeong was surprised and quickly got out of the car. Da-sol didn’t even look forward. Ri-na joked, “I watched some adult video recently, and it wasn’t even as erotic as those two,” and got a playful flick on the forehead from Yejin.
Jae-gyeong usually liked seeing Hee-ro and Jeong Jeong-eon being sweet together, but now he felt differently.
“That’s a bit extreme…”
Jae-gyeong muttered quietly, and Da-sol, lowering his headphones, agreed.
“Totally extreme.”
“…?!”
For a moment, Jae-gyeong could not react. Did Da-sol just agree with his muttered comment? For no reason? And it wasn’t even a polite “Ah, really”?
Surprised, Jae-gyeong just stared at Da-sol, and Da-sol turned his gaze toward him.
“Why?”
He asked bluntly. That confirmed Da-sol was being himself, but…
“Why are you answering me?”
Jae-gyeong could not help but ask.
