That Face Is the Problem - Chapter 83.1
Once it was confirmed that Jae-gyeong didn’t mistake Da-sol for a woman and didn’t lose interest after seeing his male genitalia, Da-sol regained his stability at a rapid pace.
In fact, the very fact that he felt relieved after learning of Jae-gyeong’s sexual orientation was unbelievable to Da-sol. That meant that Da-sol really was sincerely fond of Jae-gyeong.
‘It’s not to that extent yet, though.’
Da-sol scoffed at himself. He seemed to have lost his composure because of the first “man he found likable” that had ever appeared in his life. In the first place, “likeability” and “man” were words that could not exist on the same line.
After a sexual assault incident in high school, Da-sol had lived while keeping even his own father at a distance. Sometimes, he felt so horrified that he could barely stand looking at his own body while showering. Having lived with that level of disgust, his feelings for Jae-gyeong were shocking enough to be considered a traumatic disruption.
However, once he realized that he didn’t dislike Jae-gyeong, that he laughed more often than usual when with him, and that observing Jae-gyeong was actually fun, he had enough reason to stay with him longer. He liked the food Jae-gyeong made for him, and his watery, gray pupils felt beautiful.
The fact that Jae-gyeong was born with an innately good heart comforted Da-sol’s mind, and the simple realization that he didn’t feel extremely bad even when Jae-gyeong looked at him with “perverted eyes” was enough reason to stay by his side.
Furthermore, Jae-gyeong was the first person to make Da-sol feel like putting in an effort. Da-sol had never really tried to make an effort for Jeong-eon, even though his first impression of him hadn’t been bad. ‘Why bother?’ was the thought that had crossed his mind.
But for Jae-gyeong, Da-sol had made a promise first. That he would try. That he would make an effort. Perhaps that was when Da-sol first had a premonition that Jae-gyeong would become a person of different significance compared to others.
“First off, Jeong Mr. Jae-gyeong, it’s true that we’ve decided to date, but let’s be clear about a few things.”
Da-sol, now fully dressed, sat on the sofa and spoke bluntly. Jae-gyeong, who had also properly put on his bottoms, sat next to Da-sol.
“Yes, go ahead…”
Jae-gyeong, who nodded while staring blankly at Da-sol with a clear face devoid of even a shred of resentment, was extremely cute.
Da-sol pouted for no reason. A man who didn’t even twitch an eyebrow at Da-sol’s aggressive tone. How was he supposed to survive in this cruel world being so overly kind?
Come to think of it, that must be why he was just taking it calmly when those two idiots picked a fight at the gym in the past. Da-sol let out a deep sigh and said.
“When I talk like this, you should say something like, ‘You should talk a bit more kindly’.”
“Pardon…?”
“I know my way of speaking is incredibly rude, so why don’t you ever push back, Jeong Mr. Jae-gyeong?”
“But if you know that… wouldn’t you just fix it yourself, Mr. Da-sol? It doesn’t seem like an area that gets fixed just because I say something about it…”
Jae-gyeong scratched the back of his head with an innocent face.
“And I’m already used to the way you talk, Mr. Da-sol, so it’s fine. Please speak however you feel comfortable…. You don’t say anything about the way I talk, either…”
That wasn’t true. He had said something before. Da-sol remembered it. But this idiot had forgotten it. A soft-hearted guy who thought it was only natural for others to be harsh to him.
“Fuck…”
Da-sol suddenly muttered a curse and ruffled his own hair with both hands. His hair puffed up to more than twice its size. Jae-gyeong bit his lip because he thought the sight was so cute. Da-sol, unaware of what Jae-gyeong was thinking, grew angry.
“Don’t speak however you feel comfortable! From now on, if I don’t speak kindly and politely, you curse me out. Got it?”
“Curse you out…? Why would I…”
“Just do it!”
“Uh… I don’t want to curse at you, Mr. Da-sol…”
For a moment, Da-sol almost hugged Jae-gyeong tightly. He couldn’t stand how pitiful and slender Jae-gyeong looked (for the record, Jae-gyeong was 15cm taller than Da-sol).
“You know how much more dangerous this world has become since Awakeners appeared, right?”
“Of course…”
“But how do you intend to live in such a dangerous world with that attitude and personality? Are you relying on the fact that you’re an A-class Holy Knight? You shouldn’t do that. Ha… I’m really going crazy with frustration.”
“No, it’s not really like that—”
“What do you mean it’s not like that? Tell me now. Tell me to fix my tone.”
“No, I told you you don’t have to fix it—”
“Right now.”
Because Da-sol glared with such terrifying intensity, Jae-gyeong had no choice but to do as Da-sol commanded. However, deep inside, he still found it hard to be convinced or even understand. If someone thought their own tone was rude, shouldn’t they just fix it themselves? Why ask someone else to point it out?
