The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 10.1
Then, there is only one way left. If I cannot find Ian, I must make him find Vermouth first. Vermouth lowered himself from the building to the ground with a light, agile movement.
The task was already decided. In any world, perfect equality cannot exist. Even in the world where Vermouth lived, was it not so? An Emperor sat at the highest point, and there was a High Priest who listened to the words of God. This world would be the same.
As Vermouth stood still, the gazes of people passing by gathered upon him. Among them was someone trying to secretly take a video using the phone they held, and Vermouth approached them.
“Greetings.”
When a man with such enchanting beauty spoke to her, the woman holding the phone and filming the video answered in a startle.
“Ah, hello.”
It was so sudden that she even forgot to hide the phone with the camera app still running. She just stared blankly, continuing to film Vermouth.
“By any chance, who is the person in the highest position in this country?”
Fortunately, the woman answered Vermouth’s question kindly.
“The President?”
“Is the President the highest rank?”
“I suppose so?”
“Then, is it possible to know where he lives?”
“The Blue House.”
The eyes of the woman answering as if possessed were half out of it. Her obedient answers were not because the questions Vermouth asked were easy. It was because Vermouth had used divine power to draw a confession out of her.
Vermouth was the Captain of the Holy Knights as well as a Heretic Inquisitor. Heretic Inquisitors were people optimized for extracting information from others. Especially when dealing with the Demon King’s Army, they would uncover everything the opponent knew, even if they had to open their heads to do it.
“Which way is the Blue House?”
“Ah, well.”
The woman turned off the recording and searched for the location of the Blue House on her phone to tell him. In today’s world, where most citizens have smartphones and information is shared, this was not a strange occurrence.
“Thank you.”
Vermouth turned away cleanly as soon as he had extracted all the information. Only after he vanished from sight did the woman slump down onto the spot.
“What just happened?”
She stood dazed with her phone in hand before urgently checking if the video had been recorded.
“It was recorded!”
My goodness. Since she had filmed someone’s face without permission, she wouldn’t be able to upload it anywhere, but she could brag to her friends. She could tell them she had seen such an incredible hunk.
‘But really, what kind of person is he? An Awakened?’
If he wasn’t an Awakened, there was no way to explain the unique clothes he was wearing. It wasn’t as if someone would suddenly do cosplay in the middle of a street in Seoul for no reason.
“He must be an Awakened.”
The woman reached that conclusion and brushed herself off as she stood up. Several people around her were still peering into their phones and making a fuss. Occasionally, sounds of people saying he was too handsome could be heard.
“It feels like a dream.”
It truly was a dreamlike moment. And not long after that time, the President living in the Blue House uttered a similar sound.
“Is this a dream?”
The Blue House is the place where the nation’s supreme leader lives. If the President were assassinated, more than a few problems would arise immediately, so strict security always followed. There were many guard personnel even before Awakened appeared, but the number increased even more afterward.
Famous domestic guilds took turns sending people to protect the President. Yet, bypassing all of that, a stranger stood before him.
“My, this is not a dream, Mr. President.”
“Haha. I suppose so. It wouldn’t be a dream.”
He wasn’t yet old enough to be seeing things. He belonged to the younger side among past presidents, after all. Ryu Mo-san . The President of the Republic of Korea, he stood up from his bed.
“Who are you?”
“Who do I look like to you?”
The moonlight seeping through the window illuminated the intruder. He had blonde hair and purple eyes, and was wearing unique attire. At the very least, he did not look like an ordinary person.
“Are you an Awakened?”
Even for an Awakened, the attire is somewhat excessive. It is natural for clothes to become flashy when entering a dungeon since one wears all sorts of equipment, but it was rare for someone to go around like that outside. Moreover, shimmering blonde hair that is hard to see in Korea.
No matter how much of a foreigner he was, could hair that looked like pure gold actually exist? Just as he thought that, the man bowed his head and greeted him.
