The Villain’s Recipe - Chapter 19.1
“What is it?”
“They’re telling us to go kill a guy named Lee In-su.”
“What, is he a guy related to the laboratory? Or an enemy of ZERO?”
“Hmm. He’s too weak for that.”
“Right? A D-rank esper? And he’s a guy who trades people. Even if our vice-leader hates a guy like this, he’s not the type to go out of his way to hunt him down and kill him.”
“Well, if we’re told to do it, we do it.”
“That’s true.”
At Ryu Seo-ho’s words, Seong Mi-na nodded.
“Let’s see the location. It’s Incheon? Plus, he’s staying at the black market. Nice! We can just beat anyone to death there, right?”
“No, Mi-na unni. Please still pay attention to a certain extent. You can’t just kill anyone. Life is precious.”
Seong Mi-na vigorously rubbed the head of Seorang as he said that.
“Our youngest is so good-natured! It’s fine! I have an eye for picking out people too, so don’t worry!”
“That’s why I’m even more worried.”
Seorang jutted out his lower lip in a pout.
“Then let’s kill him quickly and go back! It’s not bad since we can eat delicious food when we come out, but for some reason, home is the best.”
“Me too.”
“Me too!”
With that, the three boarded a ship heading from Marado to Jeju Island.
“Ah, it’s a pity there’s no direct flight. It would have been nice if even the vice-leader was here.”
While Seong Mi-na was venting her complaints, Kang Sa-hyeok was entering Incheon.
❖ ❖ ❖
The night of Incheon Port was shrouded in pitch-black darkness. Although lights turned on intermittently were illuminating the surroundings, the weather was foul today. The sky was filled with pitch-black clouds, and a torrential downpour was pouring straight down.
“Of all days, on a day like this.”
Lee In-su, wearing a raincoat, grumbled as he passed through the yard where container boxes were piled up like a maze. It was because of business, as usual. If you go all the way inside, there is one container that hasn’t moved from its spot for a year, and that was the trading place. From there, Lee In-su would send people out or bring people in.
Today is the day to bring people in. A foreigner who wants to make money is deceived, and a smuggling broker hands them over to Lee In-su. Then Lee In-su sells them again to places in the country that need people.
He is aware that it is trashy work, but so what? After the gates opened, there was a time when the world population dropped drastically. However, as espers appeared, peace was restored and the population was increasing again. Just a few of them. Simply sacrificing that much allows him to get his hands on massive amounts of money. Therefore, Lee In-su felt no guilt.
“Ugh, but the weather really is like crap.”
Should he have stayed home today? However, no matter how much money Lee In-su had, he could never be satisfied. He had made quite a large sum of money by selling his nephew, but an acquaintance coaxed him into going to a VIP-only gambling house and he lost almost all of it.
“Tsk.”
If the opponent weren’t ZERO, he would have tried to squeeze out more somehow. While he was thinking that, he reached his destination. When he tapped on the door attached to the old container, a voice was heard from inside.
“Come in!”
Lee In-su, who was about to open the door without much thought, suddenly stopped his feet. The broker he usually traded with was a man. Yet the sound heard from inside was a cheerful woman’s voice.
‘A lover or a business partner.’
The broker Lee In-su knew was far too cautious a person to consider such a possibility. He slowly retreated his body backward. Should he run away like this? The very moment he was agonizing over that, the door of the container burst open as if exploding.
“Hey, didn’t I tell you to come in?”
A woman wearing rivet-studded gloves said that, and a small boy standing beside her timidly protested.
“No, this is unni’s fault. Think about it. The broker was a man, so why did unni answer?”
“What does it matter who answers? That guy wouldn’t be able to run away anyway.”
By that point, Lee In-su was already running with his tail between his legs. But before he could pick up speed, the back of his head felt chilling. Startled, he threw himself onto the ground as if rolling, and a container door grazed past him and embedded itself into the wall.
