The Villain’s Recipe - Chapter 19.2
“Ugh!”
He almost had his head blown right off.
“Ah, it missed narrowly!”
The moment he saw the woman who had clapped her hands grabbing the dented door on the opposite side, Lee In-su tried to get up with trembling legs. However, someone grabbed his shoulder and pressed him down.
“Nope, running away is a no-go. That would be troublesome.”
“W-Who?”
“Someone who wants you to die.”
Damn it, there were so many people he held grudges against that he couldn’t even guess. Was his life ending right here like this? Lee In-su gritted his teeth, trembled, and raised his head. And his eyes widened at the face that came into view.
Half of ZERO’s villains had their faces known. This was one of them. Ryu Seo-ho. A butcher who moved with a speed faster than anyone else. Only then did he also figure out the other woman’s name. Seong Mi-na. If Ryu Seo-ho’s specialty was speed, Seong Mi-na possessed immense strength. She crumpled the door she had just been holding and tossed it away casually.
“Ah, I meant to hit him this time.”
“Mi-na, let’s not be loud.”
“Yes, yes.”
Ryu Seo-ho naturally tried to slit Lee In-su’s throat with the knife he was holding.
“P-Please spare me!”
However, Ryu Seo-ho did not budge an inch.
Lee In-su shouted desperately.
“At least I want to know the reason why I’m dying!”
He desperately looked for a chance to buy time, but the knife had already reached his neck.
‘I’m going to die!’
Thinking that, Lee In-su squeezed his eyes shut. Yet no matter how long he waited, he felt no pain whatsoever in his neck. Did he slice his throat so fast that he couldn’t even feel the pain? No, something was strange.
Lee In-su slowly opened his eyes. And soon he discovered that blue flames were enveloping his surroundings. Ryu Seo-ho, who had been right beside him until just a moment ago, was now standing next to Seong Mi-na.
“Hah.”
He survived. But who saved him?
As he blankly raised his head, a familiar face came into view once again.
“Kang Sa-hyeok!”
The Management Bureau’s ace. An elemental-type ability user who manipulated fire and an S-rank esper frequently seen on the news and social media.
“What kind of business are you up to?”
Even while looking at Kang Sa-hyeok, Seong Mi-na was still smiling brightly.
“You guys are ZERO.”
“And you are Mr. Kang Sa-hyeok? But why are you sticking your nose into a fight between villains? Wouldn’t it be better for the Management Bureau if villains fight each other and their numbers decrease?”
Seong Mi-na popped a piece of bubble gum she took out of her pocket into her mouth.
“Lee In-su holds important information. So I am taking him.”
“Oh, that won’t do. Today, Lee In-su is fated to die right here.”
At those words, Kang Sa-hyeok’s eyes narrowed.
“Is it to conceal the guide’s whereabouts?”
Seong Mi-na’s pupils dilated. A guide? It didn’t seem like she was talking about Ryu Ji-yeon or Park Jung-woo. Had a new guide joined ZERO? Come to think of it, that human named Lee In-su did business in Incheon and had ties to brokers.
‘Ah, did they bring in a guide from this person?’
Seong Mi-na also knew that Ma Jin-cheol had brought in a few guides like that and then sent them away last time. Did one of them end up being a pretty good match? Thanks to that, things had become a bit troublesome. If they hadn’t run into trouble with the boat on the way here, she would have cleanly wiped out Lee In-su. And if she had turned this neighborhood upside down, it wouldn’t have been easy for psychometry to find information either.
‘This is because I was too clueless.’
Seong Mi-na clicked her tongue softly. When she blew air into the gum she was chewing, it quickly turned into a balloon shape. But before long, the balloon popped.
‘Shall I just kill them all?’
Seong Mi-na glanced sideways at Ryu Seo-ho. He nodded his head. It meant they should just dispose of both of them. She didn’t particularly want to kill a righteous person, but what could she do? She thrust her hand directly into the container wall right beside her. Thick metallic material twisted and tore under her grip.
At the same time, Seorang silently stared fixedly at Kang Sa-hyeok.
